But this one’s got adventure too, they say.

This “Totem Realm” thing, it’s got all sorts, like magic and spirits and what not. They got these totems, like them ol’ wooden carvings, and they mean somethin’ special to these jungle folks. Sera, she’s gotta learn to live with ’em, go from city gal to jungle Jane, I guess. It ain’t easy, lemme tell ya. Imagine goin’ from a comfy chair to sleepin’ on the ground, eatin’ bugs and stuff. Yuck!
- It’s a “fantasy” they say, which means it ain’t real, thank the Lord.
- And there’s “romance,” the kind with the huggin’ and kissin’, though my grandkid skips those parts, says it’s embarrassing.
- Then there’s the “smut,” which I ain’t even gonna talk about. Sounds dirty, if ya ask me. Kids these days!
This fella, Lee Soo-hyun, he’s the one who wrote it, or drew it, or whatever they do with these mangas. And they got it on this “KaliScan” place, and “Onimanga,” and “Mangaoi.” Sounds like a bunch of gibberish to me, but that’s where the young’uns find it. They read it online, on their phones and them computery things. Back in my day, we read books, real books, made of paper.
Now, they say this Sera girl, she’s changin’. Goin’ from scaredy-cat to brave, learnin’ to survive and all that. Kinda like growin’ up, I guess, but with more monsters and magic. And this beastman, he’s always there, lookin’ out for her, protectin’ her. Sounds like a good fella, even if he is a bit…hairy.
They got lots of chapters, they call ‘em. Like, “Totem Realm – 95,” then “Totem Realm – 94,” and so on. Means there’s a whole heap of story to read. My grandkid, they’re always waitin’ for the new one to come out. It’s like waitin’ for the crops to grow, only it’s pictures and words.
And they got this warnin’ on it, says it ain’t for little kids. “Mature content” they call it. Means there’s stuff in there that ain’t for young eyes. Violence, probably, and maybe some of that “smut” stuff. So, if you got young’uns, keep ’em away from it, I say.

If you like them fantasy stories, with a bit of romance and a whole lotta adventure, then you might like this “Totem Realm” thing. Just don’t blame me if it gets too weird.
