But I heard it’s about the horse’s life, all the ups and downs. Good people and bad people, just like in real life, I reckon. This horse, he goes through a lot, pullin’ carriages and whatnot. Probably had to deal with some real mean folks, too. It’s a hard life, bein’ a horse, just like it’s a hard life bein’ a farmer, or anyone for that matter.

I saw this young fella playin’ Peter Pan once, Yashua Mack, they said his name was. Beat out a whole bunch of kids for the part, over fifteen hundred, can you imagine? Musta been somethin’ special, that boy. Makes you think, huh? All these different ways of tellin’ stories, movies and books and plays. But in the end, they’re all just tryin’ to tell us somethin’ about life, whether it’s about flyin’ to Neverland or pullin’ a cart through the streets. And sometimes, they just like to play with words, like that ALLITERATION thing.
So, that’s what I know about “Peter Pan” and “Black Beauty.” One’s a flyin’ boy, the other’s a horse. But they both got that same sound thing goin’ on, and they both tell a story, in their own way. And that’s good enough for me. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on them chickens. They’ve been making quite a fuss all morning!
More on Peter Pan, he’s got those pointy ears, makes you wonder if he’s really human or some kind of fairy creature. Always smilin’ that mischievous smile, you know the type, always up to somethin’. I tell ya, if he was a real boy, he’d be a handful, always climbin’ trees and causin’ trouble. But that’s what makes him Peter Pan, I guess. He ain’t meant to be sittin’ still and minding his manners.
And that Black Beauty, imagine the strength and the grace of that horse. Running through the fields, pulling those heavy carriages. Must have been a sight to see. Makes you appreciate animals, you know? They work hard and they don’t complain, just like us country folk. We work from sun up to sun down, and we don’t expect no handouts.
So, whether it’s Peter Pan flyin’ through the air or Black Beauty gallopin’ on the ground, it’s all about life, ain’t it? The good and the bad, the ups and downs.
