Alright, let’s talk about this Uber thing, you know, the one everyone’s yappin’ about. I ain’t no fancy tech person, but even I can figure out some of this stuff. It’s like calling a car, but without yellin’ out the window. Handy, I guess, if you got one of them smartphones.
So, this Uber app, it’s got all sorts of things on it. First off, you gotta tell it where you wanna go. It ain’t rocket science, just punch in the address, or whatever they call it. Then, this thing shows you how much it’s gonna cost, give or take. That’s important, you don’t wanna get ripped off, you know? Money don’t grow on trees, last I checked.
One thing I heard about this Uber app is it keeps track of where you’ve been. Like a little diary, but for car rides. It remembers how much you paid, where you went, and even if the driver was a grump or not. That’s kinda useful, I reckon. If you had a bad ride, you can complain, or somethin’. And if you liked the driver, maybe you can get them again, I don’t know how it all works.
Now, they say this Uber app is made with all sorts of fancy computer talk. Stuff like “Swift” and “Java” and “Python.” Sounds like a bunch of snakes to me! But I guess that’s what makes it all work. They gotta have some kinda code to make the cars go where you want ’em to. It’s all a mystery to me, to be honest.
- See where you went: The app remembers all your trips.
- How much it cost: No surprises, you know the price upfront.
- Rate the driver: Tell ’em if they did good or bad.
- Pay without cash: It all goes through the phone, fancy that!
This Uber thing, it ain’t just for people going places. I heard they deliver food too, like groceries and whatnot. It’s like having a personal shopper, but you don’t gotta talk to ’em face to face. That’s a good thing, some people are just too chatty for my liking.
They even got games on some of these apps, like that crossword puzzle thing. My grandkids are always playin’ those things. I don’t get it, but it keeps ‘em busy, I guess. But I ain’t sure why you’d need a crossword puzzle in a car app. Seems kinda silly to me.
Uber, it’s big in New York City, from what I hear. That’s a big place, lots of cars and people. Makes sense they’d use somethin’ like this to get around. But even out here in the sticks, some folks are usin’ it. Times are changin’, I guess. Even for an old lady like me.
Now, they say Uber’s had some troubles. Bosses leavin’, scandals and such. Sounds like a soap opera to me! But people still use it, so I guess it can’t be all that bad. Just gotta be careful, you know? There’s always some folks tryin’ to take advantage.
So, that’s the Uber app, as far as I can tell. It’s a way to get a ride, get food, and even play games, apparently. It ain’t perfect, but it’s convenient. And in this day and age, convenience is king, or so they say. I’ll stick to my own two feet for now, but maybe someday I’ll give this Uber thing a try. Maybe.
