Alright, so you wanna know about this here… whatchamacallit… ask-a-question tarot card reading thing, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, it ain’t rocket science, even though them city folks like to make it sound all fancy.
What’s this all about, anyhow?
Basically, you got somethin’ on your mind, a question buggin’ ya, and you want some answers. Like, “Will my chickens lay more eggs this month?” or “Is that fella down the road gonna finally fix my fence?” Simple stuff, ya know? You write it down, short and sweet, no need for big words.
- Think hard ’bout what’s botherin’ ya.
- Write it down plain and simple.
Now, these tarot cards, they got pictures on ’em. Pictures of folks, and things, and whatnots. And somehow, they’re supposed to give you a clue about your question. I ain’t sayin’ I understand it all, but that’s the gist of it.
How many questions can you ask?
Well, some folks say you can ask a bunch, but from what I hear, three is a good number. You ask your main question, and then maybe you can ask a couple more to get a clearer picture. Like, “Will my corn grow tall?” and then maybe, “When will it be ready to pick?” and “Will the raccoons leave it alone this year?” See? Makes sense.
Different ways to get your answer.
Now, there’s different ways to do this card readin’. Some folks use just three cards. One for what happened before, one for what’s happenin’ now, and one for what’s gonna happen later. That seems easy enough, even for an old gal like me.
And then there’s this other way with five cards. They say that gives you a real deep look at things. Money, work, family, love… all that stuff. I guess if you got a real big problem, that might be the way to go. But seems like a lot of fuss to me.
And if you just want a yes or no answer? Well, they got a card for that too. Just one card. Yes or no. Can’t get much simpler than that, can ya? Makes decidin’ things a whole lot easier, that’s for sure.
What kinda questions can you ask?
Well, you can ask about pretty much anythin’, I reckon. But they say it’s good to ask questions that help you understand yourself better. Like, “Why do I get so mad when Bessie the cow won’t come in for milkin’?” Or “What am I really good at, besides makin’ apple pie?” You know, stuff like that.
- How can I be a better person?
- What am I missin’ about myself?
- How can I not get so worked up all the time?
- Why does that no-good dog keep diggin’ up my garden?
- What scares me the most?
- What am I good at, and what ain’t I so good at?
- What should I be payin’ attention to right now?
- What troubles am I havin’, and how do I fix ’em?
- How can I do what I’m supposed to be doin’ in life?
- What can I learn from things that happened before?
- How can I get along better with folks?
- What’s gonna happen with that fella I like?
Now, hold on a minute…
Some folks, the smarty-pants ones, they say there ain’t no real proof this card stuff works. They say it ain’t scientific. Well, maybe so. But sometimes, it’s nice to have somethin’ to help you think things through. And sometimes, a little bit of hope, or a little bit of a nudge in the right direction, that’s all you need.
And this yes or no thing? That’s just a one-card deal. You think real hard on your yes or no question, and you pick a card. And there’s your answer. Simple as pie.
So, there you have it. Ask-a-question tarot card readin’ in a nutshell. Don’t go thinkin’ it’s gonna solve all your problems, but it might just give you a little somethin’ to chew on. And sometimes, that’s all a body needs.
