Well, let me tell ya ’bout this warrior thing in that…what’s it called… SoD thingy. You young folks and your fancy names! Anyways, this warrior, he’s a tough fella, real tough. Gotta be strong, you know, like a bull in a china shop, but tougher.
So, first things first, gotta pick what kinda warrior you wanna be. There’s this tank fella, the one who takes all the hits, like a shield, ya know? Then there’s the other fella, the one who hits hard, real hard, like a hammer to the face. They call ‘em DPS, whatever that means. Fancy words, I tell ya.
Tank Warrior – The Wall
If you wanna be the wall, the unmovable fella, you gotta be tough as nails. Gotta have strong armor, lots of it. And a big ol’ shield, the bigger the better. This “rune of life”, they say it’s good for the tank. Makes ya strong, makes ya hit hard. More health, more hitting. Simple as that.
- Talents: Gotta go deep into this “prot” thing, whatever that is. It makes your shield slam real strong, like a punch from a giant. And the better your shield, the harder you hit. It’s all about that shield, you see.
- Runes: Well, like I said, that life rune is good. Makes you tough and strong. There’s other runes too, but they ain’t as good for tankin’, not in my book. This tank fella, he’s gotta be the toughest, so you pick the runes that make him tough.
This tank warrior, he’s got all sorts of tricks up his sleeve. More tricks than a dog in a flea circus, I tell ya. He’s the best at takin’ hits, they say. And in this “SoD” thing, he’s the best of the best at tankin’.
DPS Warrior – The Hammer
Now, if you wanna hit hard, real hard, you gotta be a DPS warrior. This fella’s all about hittin’ and hittin’ fast. They got these two ways of hittin’ hard, you see. One is with a big, slow weapon, and the other is with two smaller, faster weapons. Like a one-two punch, but with weapons!
For big, slow weapons they use something called “Slam”. For two weapons, they call it “dual wield”. I don’t know why they need all these fancy names, but that’s what they call ‘em.
- Talents: They got this thing called “Fury.” That’s what you pick if you wanna hit real hard. It makes you swing faster and hit harder, like a whirlwind of fists, but with weapons. This Fury thing, it’s the best for hittin’ hard in this “SoD” thing, and in that old Classic game too. They say so, anyways.
- Runes: Now, runes for this hittin’ fella, that’s a whole different story. You gotta pick the ones that make you hit harder. They say if everyone is the same, this hittin’ fella hits the hardest. He’s the top dog, you see. But if the fight ain’t good for hittin’, well, then he ain’t so good. Like a fish outta water, I guess.
So there ya have it. Two kinds of warriors in this here “SoD” thing. One’s a wall, takin’ all the hits. The other’s a hammer, hittin’ hard and fast. You pick what you like best. Me? I’d pick the one that can stand strong and hit hard. Best of both worlds, I say!
But what do I know? I’m just an old woman talking. You youngsters go figure it out yourselves. Just remember to be strong, be tough, and hit hard. That’s all there is to it.
