Now, I ain’t no car expert or nothin’, but I heard tell that these Cobras can do an eighth of a mile pretty quick. Somethin’ like 12.50 seconds, they say. That’s speedy, I reckon. Faster than my old mule, that’s for sure.
And them Vipers, well, they got more gears, I hear. Six of ’em, count ’em, six! Cobras, they only got four. But don’t go thinkin’ that makes ’em slow. No sirree! That Cobra’s got all them revs and gears, they say. It’s like a wild horse, just chompin’ at the bit, ready to go.
Them city folks, they like to talk about final-drive ratios and all that fancy stuff. Somethin’ about 4.11:1 for the Cobra, whatever that means. All I know is, it makes ’em go fast. That’s all that matters, ain’t it?
Now, you might be wonderin’, what’s so special about these cars anyways? Well, for one thing, they’re powerful. Lots of horsepower, they say. More than my old tractor, that’s for certain. And they look mean too. Sleek and low to the ground, like a snake ready to strike.

I heard tell they stopped makin’ them Vipers. Somethin’ about not meetin’ some safety rules. Airbags, they call ’em. Guess they wanna keep folks safe, even when they’re drivin’ fast. They didn’t make too many of them first Vipers, neither. Only about 600 or so. That’s fewer than the chickens I got in my coop!
Folks like to compare these Cobras and Vipers. They say they got similar features. I guess they’re both fast and powerful. And they both got that snake name, don’t they? Cobras and Vipers. Sounds like trouble to me. But the kinda trouble some folks like, I reckon.
One thing’s for sure, you ain’t gonna find me drivin’ one of them things. Too fast and fancy for an old gal like me. I’ll stick to my old truck, thank you very much. At least I know how to handle that one. And if it breaks down, I can probably fix it myself with a little baling wire and a prayer.
But them fellas that like speed and power, well, they go crazy for these Cobras and Vipers. They spend a lot of money on ’em, too. More money than I’ve seen in my whole life, I’d wager. But hey, to each their own, I always say. If it makes ’em happy, then more power to ’em.
So there you have it, my two cents on them Cobras and Dodge Vipers. They’re fast, they’re powerful, and they’re probably a whole lot of fun to drive, if you’re into that sort of thing. Me? I’ll stick to my slow and steady. It gets me where I need to go, and that’s all that matters. But those cars, they sure are something to talk about, ain’t they?
