Alright, alright, let’s talk about them Paladin thingamajigs, them…runes, yeah, in that World of Warcraft thingy, the Season of Discovery, the second whatchamacallit…phase. My boy, he plays this game all day long, and I hear him yellin’ about these runes. So, I asked him, and he told me a bit, and I looked some stuff up on that computery thing.
So, first things first, them Paladin runes, they ain’t just gonna jump out at ya. You gotta work for ’em, like pullin’ weeds in the garden, but way more…computer-y. Gotta get ready for dungeons, that’s what my boy says. These dungeons, they ain’t no walk in the park, more like a slog through the mud after a big rain. They’re full of bad guys and…critters, and them runes are hidin’ in there.
- The Guardian Rune: Now, this one, it’s a tough nut to crack. My boy was stuck on it for a while, grumbling like an old bear with a thorn in its paw. Seems like ya gotta do a bunch of stuff, like goin’ here and there, killin’ this and that. It’s all mixed up, he says. First, gotta find a scroll, then ya gotta go smack some ghosts, then ya gotta find a…a sigil, whatever that is. Then ya go to some ruins, fight some more ghosts, and finally, ya get the rune. Sounded like a whole lotta trouble to me, but he was happy as a pig in slop when he got it. He kept yellin’, “I got the Rune of the Guardian! I got the Rune of the Guardian!” Lord, these kids and their games.
- The Aegis Rune: This one, I hear, is another doozy. It’s all about protectin’ yourself, like puttin’ on a big ol’ coat before a blizzard. Seems like ya gotta go to a place called Scarlet Monastery, which sounds scary to me. Then ya gotta find some books and…holy water, like what the preacher uses. Then ya gotta fight some spooky fellas and chant some words. After all that, ya get the rune. My boy says it makes you tough as nails, which is good, I guess, ‘cause them dungeons are full of nasty things tryin’ to hurt ya.
Now, from what I gather, there ain’t no easy way to get these runes. It’s all about bein’ prepared and knowin’ what to do. Like makin’ a good stew, ya gotta have the right ingredients and ya gotta cook it just right. And just like bakin’ a pie, it’s not always easy. Sometimes the dough is too sticky or the apples are too sour, and ya gotta start again. My boy he said he failed many times before he got some of these runes. It takes time and effort.
And remember, these dungeons, they ain’t for the faint of heart. My boy says you gotta be tough, you gotta have good gear, and ya gotta know your…class, whatever that means. Paladin, that’s what he plays, a holy warrior he calls it, with a big hammer and shiny armor. Sounds like somethin’ outta one of them old stories, to me.
So, if you’re lookin’ for them Paladin runes in Phase 2, you gotta be ready to work for it. Get yourself prepared, get your friends together, and go delve into them dungeons. And don’t forget to bring lots of…mana buns, whatever those are. My boy is always yellin’ about them too, saying he needs more mana buns or something like that. Kids these days with their crazy talk.
And don’t get discouraged if you don’t get the rune right away. Just like fishin’, sometimes you catch somethin’, sometimes you don’t. Just keep at it, and eventually, you’ll get them runes. And then you can go around smashin’ things and…healin’ people, I guess, that’s what Paladins do. Seems like a lot of work to me, but hey, if it makes them happy, then who am I to judge? My boy says it’s fun, but all I see is him starin’ at that screen all day. He better not forget to take out the trash, runes or no runes. Trash ain’t gonna take itself out, that’s for sure.
Anyways, that’s all I know about them Paladin runes. Hope it helps ya, or at least gives ya somethin’ to think about. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. Them kids gotta eat, even if they spend all day fightin’ virtual monsters.
Oh, and one more thing, my boy told me that the runes help paladins to heal and to deal more damage. There is one what he called “retribution” rune and another what he called “holy” rune. Lord knows what that means. But he says it makes big difference, so you probably want to get them fast or you won’t find groups to play with.
And I almost forgot, he also said something about a “seal”, “judgement” and “consecration”. Sounded like some churchy things to me. But he said it’s how paladins fight. Something about putting a seal on the enemy and then judging them, and then consecrating the ground. It’s all too confusing for me. But if you playing a paladin, then you probably know all that already.
So there you have it. All I know about them runes. Now go get ‘em, and leave me alone to my stories.
