Totem boots review: Are they comfortable? (Honest thoughts about totem boots for all)
You know, I hear them young folks talking ’bout totem boots all the time. What in the heck are totem boots? I reckon it’s just a fancy name for them boots they wear now. My old boots, they was just boots. But these totem boots, they got all sorts of things goin’ on, I guess.
These totem boots, they come in all shapes and sizes. Some tall, some short. I seen some with them pointy toes, kinda like them shoes them city folks wear. And colors? Lordy, every color under the sun! Red ones, blue ones, even them shiny ones that look like a beetle’s back. Don’t know why anyone would want boots that color, but there you go.
I heard they cost a pretty penny, these totem boots. Back in my day, you got one good pair of boots, and you wore ’em ’til they fell apart. You took care of ’em, oiled ’em up, kept ’em lookin’ decent. Nowadays? These young’uns, they got a different pair for every day of the week, I swear!
Now, I seen some of these totem boots called “ankle boots.” What does that mean, I wonder? Just boots that only go up to your ankles, I reckon. Seems kinda pointless to me. If you’re gonna wear boots, wear boots! Go all the way up to your knees, keep your legs warm, keep the mud out.
- Some of them totem boots is made of leather, real nice and soft, they say.
- Some are made of that fake stuff, looks like leather but ain’t.
- And then there’s them ones made of cloth! Can you believe it? Boots made of cloth!
I heard ’em say these totem boots, some of ’em are real comfortable. That’s important, I suppose. You gotta be able to walk around in your boots, work in your boots. If they ain’t comfortable, what’s the point? My old boots, they was tough at first. Had to break ’em in, you know. Walk around in ’em, get ’em used to your feet. But once you did, they fit like a glove.
These newfangled totem boots, they say you don’t even have to break ’em in! They’re soft right outta the box. Sounds kinda fishy to me. How can somethin’ be that soft and still be strong? But then again, lots of things nowadays is different. And it is good for your feet, so you can walk all day.
I seen some of these totem boots, they got zippers on ’em. Zippers! My old boots, you just pulled ’em on. These zippers, they seem kinda delicate to me. What happens if the zipper breaks? Then you got a boot you can’t even wear.
- They got these totem boots for men, and totem boots for women.
- Some are plain, some are fancy.
- Some got buckles, some got laces.
I guess these totem boots are just the way things are now. Everything’s changin’, gotta keep up with the times, I suppose. But I still think a good, sturdy pair of boots is all you really need. Something that’ll last you, something that’ll protect your feet. You can keep your colors and your fancy. I need something that can stand up to weather.
There is a lot of different totem boots, like The Desert, The Sock, The Sharp. All kinds, all different money. Them city folk sure do love to spend money on shoes. They say these boots are good for your feet. Good for if you got that plant… planty… oh, I forget the word. Some foot problem. They say these boots help with that. Good for long hours, too. They say these boots are good for everything!
They say you gotta get your right size in these totem boots. Just like any other shoe, I reckon. If it’s too small, it’ll pinch your toes. If it’s too big, your foot will slide around. Gotta get it just right. They say you need to get them broken in. That’s right. Wear them around, make them fit your feet. Make them soft and not stiff.
These young people, they sure are interested in their totem boots. I see them looking at pictures of them, talking about them. They buy them online, I hear. They sure love to buy things online. I don’t understand it. But they say these boots are the best thing. I think any boot is a good boot if it keeps your feet warm and dry, and you take care of it, so it doesn’t get tossed away.
Well, I guess that’s all I know about these totem boots. It ain’t much, but it’s somethin’. Just another one of them new things the young folks are into. Maybe they are good. Maybe I’ll try a pair sometime, who knows? But for now, I’ll stick with my old boots. They ain’t fancy, but they get the job done. And they is real comfortable now that they is old. I think that is the best thing, not throw away your boots. Just keep using them.
