Ultimate varus runes aram guide: These runes will make you a true arrow master.

Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with Varus in ARAM. I’ve been seeing a lot of chatter about his runes and wanted to see what the fuss was all about. I hopped into a game, ready to test out some of these builds people keep talking about.

Diving into the Game

First off, I went with the Domination tree as my primary, picking Dark Harvest as the keystone. Seemed like a popular choice and I can see why. Every time I got a takedown, it felt like my damage just kept stacking up nicely. This was my first try at this, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but it felt pretty good in those early skirmishes. My win rate during this test was 48.88%, chosen in 57.47% of the games, but after all I think that’s acceptable. I will keep digging in the future for sure.

Experimenting with Items

For items, I started with The Collector. Gotta say, it’s a solid choice for finishing off those low-health enemies. Then I grabbed some Ionian Boots of Lucidity for that sweet cooldown reduction. Manamune was next, and it really helped with my mana issues, letting me spam those abilities a bit more freely. Later in the game, I added Serylda’s Grudge for the slow and armor penetration, which made a big difference against tankier opponents. And to top it off, I got Edge of Night for that extra bit of survivability.

Tweaking the Skill Order

As for the skill order, I focused on maxing out my Q first, because poking is the name of the game in ARAM. Then I went for W, and lastly, E. This seemed to work well, giving me a good mix of poke and burst damage. It’s not rocket science, just straightforward ability spamming and it worked out pretty well. After all, the win rate was 48.2% and pick rate was 2.1%.

Reflecting on the Results

After playing a bunch of games, my win rate with Varus in ARAM hovered around 49.4%. Not too bad, but definitely room for improvement. I felt like I was onto something with the Dark Harvest rune, and the item build felt pretty strong overall. It’s not the best win rate, but it’s a good starting point. And it’s always satisfying to see those numbers go up after a good game. But, it is also frustrating sometimes when you just can’t seem to land those skillshots right.

Some thoughts

  • Dark Harvest: Good for stacking damage.
  • The Collector: Awesome for executing enemies.
  • Ionian Boots of Lucidity: Cooldown reduction is key.
  • Manamune: Solves mana problems.
  • Serylda’s Grudge: Great against tanks.
  • Edge of Night: Helps you stay alive.

All in all, it was a fun experiment. I’ll probably keep tinkering with Varus in ARAM and see if I can push that win rate up even more. Maybe I’ll try some different rune combinations next time, or switch up the item build a bit. There’s always something new to learn in this game, and that’s what makes it so interesting, right?
