I always wanted to catch a big fish and a friend told me about this place called Sheboygan in Wisconsin.
He said that the fishing there is great, especially for salmon, so I decided to check it out. I looked it up on the internet and found out that Sheboygan is right on Lake Michigan, which apparently is a huge lake with tons of fish.
I drove there, and the first thing I noticed was how pretty the lake is.
It’s really big, like an ocean, and the water is super clear.
I found a spot near the mouth of a river, because someone online said that’s where the salmon like to hang out.
The water was moving fast, which was kind of exciting.
- I cast my line out and waited.
- And waited.
- And waited.
Finally, I felt a tug! It was a big one!
I Got One!
I started reeling it in, and this fish was putting up a fight. It took a while, but I finally got it out of the water. It was a salmon, and it was huge! I couldn’t believe how big and shiny it was. It looked like a silver torpedo, just like the ones I saw in pictures.
I fished for a few more hours and caught a couple more, but that first one was definitely the biggest.
I took some pictures and then carefully put them back in the water. Catching a big salmon is cool, but also want them to go on and have babies so there are more fish for later.
Going to Sheboygan was a great experience.
It’s a beautiful place, and the fishing is amazing.
I’d definitely go back there again. Maybe next time I’ll try to catch a trout or a walleye, since I heard they have those there too.
If you like fishing, you should definitely check out Lake Michigan. Just be prepared for a workout, because those salmon are strong!
I’m glad I went, and I’m already thinking about my next fishing trip!
