Okay, so, I was messing around online today, just killing time, and I stumbled across this crossword puzzle, you know, one of those word games. I’m not usually into them, but something caught my eye. The clue was “Feature of many a John Coltrane tune.” Now, I’m a big jazz fan, especially Coltrane, so I got curious. What do you know, this ended up taking up a good chunk of my afternoon!

I kept digging, you know, scrolling through these different sites. I found one that said the answer was last seen on May 2nd in the Universal Crossword. Interesting, but still didn’t help me crack the code. Another site had a whole database, and they said they had just one possible answer.
The Breakthrough
Finally, after what felt like forever, I landed on a page that said the answer was six letters. And there it was, a big clue! The site said this clue was last seen in the Universal Crossword on May 2nd. The answer they gave had six letters. And I finally realized, oh yeah, Coltrane was known for playing in modes! So MODALITY, should be the answer, right?
So yeah, that’s how I spent a good part of my day, chasing down the answer to a crossword clue. It was a fun little detour, and it reminded me how much I love Coltrane’s music. Maybe I’ll even try to do more crosswords in the future. Who knows? But for now, I’m just glad I finally figured it out. It’s MODALITY.
