So, I’ve been seeing all this talk about runes lately, especially this “Votans” thing. Sounds pretty cool, right? Like something out of a fantasy game. I decided to see what all the fuss was about, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride.
First, I tried to figure out what these runes even are. Apparently, they’re some kind of ancient alphabet used by a group of people called the “Kin,” or sometimes “Squats,” which sounds kind of funny, I think. And these folks are part of something called the “Leagues of Votann.” It seems like they’re pretty tough cookies.
I started digging around online, you know, just to get a feel for it. I found some guides for beginners, which was perfect because I didn’t have a clue where to start. One guide said it could be used for divination, which I guess is like telling the future? That sounded interesting, so I kept going.
I found this other thing called “Elder Futhark” runes. No idea what that meant, but the guide I found made it sound pretty simple. It had tags like “Runes” and “Guide,” which was exactly what I was looking for. I even stumbled upon a “Rune Tooltips” thing for something called “Eso.” I’m not sure what that is, but it looked complicated.
Then I found some posts on a place called “Reddit” about historical rune magic. I saw a suggestion to read some guy named “Klaus Dwel’s” intro to runes, but I’m not much of a reader, to be honest. I did learn a bit about “witches runes” and “ogham runes,” though. Sounds a bit spooky, but kind of cool too.
Anyway, I found this book called “Runes for Beginners” by some author named “Lisa Chamberlain.” I figured I’d give it a shot. I mean, if it’s for beginners, how hard could it be, right?
