Alright, folks, let’s talk about my recent adventure with Gwen in ARAM. I’ve been messing around with her build and runes, and I want to share what I’ve learned so far.
So, I jumped into a bunch of Gwen games – I lost count after a while, to be honest. I wanted to figure out the best way to play her in ARAM. I heard some people saying she’s not that great in this mode, but I like a challenge, you know?
First off, runes. I tried a bunch of different setups. I started with the usual Precision tree, taking Conqueror because it seemed like a good idea for a fighter like Gwen. For the other runes, I went with Triumph, Legend: Alacrity, and Last Stand. Seemed pretty standard, right?
Then, I started experimenting with the secondary runes. I tried Domination for a while, but it didn’t feel quite right. I messed around with Resolve too, thinking maybe some extra defense would be good. But honestly, the most success I had was with Sorcery as the secondary path. I don’t know, it just seemed to work better for me.
Now, let’s talk about items. This is where things got really interesting. I started with Riftmaker, because it’s a pretty common item for Gwen. Then I usually went for Nashor’s Tooth, because attack speed is always nice on her. After that, I was just kind of winging it, depending on the enemy team.
Sometimes I built Mercury’s Treads if they had a lot of crowd control, other times I went for Sorcerer’s Shoes if I felt like I needed more magic penetration. It really depended on the game, you know?
I even tried building some tank items a few times, like Spirit Visage or Dead Man’s Plate. It was kind of fun, but I’m not sure it was the best way to play her. But hey, it was worth a shot, right?
After all these games, I’ve come to the conclusion that Gwen is actually pretty decent in ARAM. She’s not the strongest champion, for sure, but she’s definitely not the worst either. I’ve had some pretty good games with her, even won a few.
Here are some of the things I picked up:
- Conqueror is a solid keystone, but you could probably try other options.
- Riftmaker and Nashor’s Tooth seem like core items.
- The rest of the build is pretty flexible.
- Sorcery might be a good secondary rune path, though, it is up to you.
- Don’t be afraid to experiment!
