Alright, so I’ve been grinding away in Final Fantasy XIV, trying to snag some of those cool mounts from the Extreme trials. Today, I wanna talk about the Hive Totem and my journey to get it.
First off, I had to unlock these Extreme trials. I started by finishing the “Heavensward” main story quest, which was a bit of a journey in itself. Then, I headed over to The Pillars and found this dude named Torsefers, hanging out near Fortemps Manor (X:11.7, Y:11.5, if you’re looking for him). He had this quest called “Gods of Eld” which I obviously picked up.
The Grind Begins
After a few more quests, I finally unlocked Thok ast Thok (Extreme), also known as the Ravana fight. This is where the real fun started. Each time you beat this guy, you get a Resilient Totem. And guess what? You need 99 of these to buy the mount from some vendor named Uah’shepya in Solution Nine.
- Step 1: Finish “Heavensward” main quest.
- Step 2: Find Torsefers in The Pillars (X:11.7, Y:11.5).
- Step 3: Accept “Gods of Eld” quest.
- Step 4: Unlock Thok ast Thok (Extreme).
Facing Ravana
Man, Ravana is no joke. The Extreme version of this fight is tough, but it’s also pretty fun once you get the hang of it. Every time we beat him, everyone in the party got a Resilient Totem, and sometimes he dropped some random weapons which we all rolled for. I got lucky a few times and snagged some gear, but the real prize was those totems.
I joined a bunch of parties, some were smooth, some were, well, let’s just say we wiped a lot. But each run got me closer to those 99 totems. I kept at it, day after day, running Ravana over and over again.
The Long Haul
Now, I heard rumors about a guy on my server who had like 600 of these totems and still hadn’t gotten the mount by pure drops. I guess the mount can drop directly, but it’s super rare. So, I wasn’t counting on that. I was in it for the long haul, collecting those totems.
After what felt like forever, I finally hit 99 Resilient Totems. I high-tailed it over to Solution Nine, found Uah’shepya, and traded in my hard-earned totems for that sweet mount. It felt amazing to finally get it after all that work.
So yeah, that’s my story of grinding for the Hive Totem in FFXIV. It was a long, sometimes frustrating, but ultimately rewarding experience. If you’re thinking about going for it, just be prepared for a lot of Ravana fights. But trust me, it’s worth it in the end. Happy gaming, folks!
