Alright, so let me tell you about this little project I got myself into. I’ve got this old lawn mower, the kind you push, not ride. It’s been sitting in my shed for a while, and the tires were completely shot. Flat, cracked, you name it. So, I decided it was time to replace them.
I did a little looking around and found these HI-RUN 11×6-5 tires. Seemed like a good fit, and the price was right. Plus, they’re flat-free, which is a huge plus. No more dealing with punctures! When the tires arrived, I was eager to get them on. First things first, I had to get the old ones off. That involved a bit of wrestling with some rusty bolts, but nothing a little elbow grease and some penetrating oil couldn’t handle. I jacked up the mower to make things easier, by the way. It has a 430 lbs maximum load capacity so it is no problem to jack it up.
With the old tires out of the way, I took a look at the new ones. They came with a universal bushing kit, which was handy. I found the right size bushings for my mower’s axle and slid them in. Then, I mounted the new tires onto the wheels. They fit snugly, which was reassuring.
The next step was to put the wheels back on the mower. I aligned them with the axle, slid them on, and tightened the bolts. I made sure everything was nice and secure, didn’t want a wheel coming off mid-mow, right?
Once everything was back together, I lowered the mower back down and gave it a test push. Smooth as butter! The new tires rolled effortlessly, and the mower felt like new. I was pretty proud of myself, not going to lie.

- Easier than I thought: I was a bit intimidated at first, but replacing the tires turned out to be a pretty straightforward job.
- Flat-free is the way to go: I’m so glad I went with these flat-free tires. I’m confident they will give a more comfortable ride. No more worrying about flats is a huge relief.
