The package arrived, and I was like a kid on Christmas morning. I ripped that box open and started laying everything out. First thing I did was read the instructions, which, let’s be honest, is not always my strong suit. But I figured, better safe than sorry. They were actually pretty clear, which was a relief.
First, you gotta find the holes where these things are supposed to attach. They were already there on my Jeep, which was nice. Some had these little rubber plugs in them, which I just popped out. Apparently, if your vehicle doesn’t have holes, you have to drill them yourself. Glad I didn’t have to deal with that!
Then, it was just a matter of lining up the brackets and bolting them on. Sounds easy, right? Well, it was a little tricky getting everything lined up perfectly, especially since I was doing it by myself. A second pair of hands would have been helpful, but I managed. I had to use a wrench to tighten the bolts. Took a bit of elbow grease, but I got ’em nice and snug.

The whole process took me a couple of hours, maybe three. Not bad for a first-timer, I think. And you know what? It was actually kind of fun. I felt a real sense of accomplishment when I was done. Like, “Yeah, I built that!”
Now, getting in and out of my Jeep is so much easier. And they add a nice touch of style, too. I do recommend taking a look at the different types of materials and finishes. I saw a lot of stainless steel options which seemed like a good deal. There were also aluminum ones that were apparently lightweight and resistant to rust.
