So, I’ve been wanting to make a Run DMC shirt for a while now. I’m a huge fan of their music, and I think it would be cool to have a shirt with their logo on it. I mean, who doesn’t love Run DMC? They’re like, the godfathers of hip hop!
First, I started looking around online to see what kind of Run DMC shirts were already out there. Found a bunch of different designs, some with just the logo, some with pictures of the group, and some with lyrics from their songs. Prices were all over the place, anywhere from a few bucks to around 3000 for some “limited edition” things. I even saw some hip-hop costume kits for around 1200 – crazy, right?
- Decided I wanted something simple, just the classic Run DMC logo.
- Looked at a few different online stores, but nothing really caught my eye.
- Thought about trying to design my own, but I’m not much of an artist.
Then, I remembered I had some plain white t-shirts lying around. Figured, why not try to make my own? I mean, how hard could it be? I found a bunch of tutorials online for making your own t-shirts. Some people used stencils, some used iron-on transfers.
Making My Own Shirt
I decided to go with the iron-on transfer method. It seemed like the easiest way to get a clean, professional-looking design, and I’m all about that easy life. I ordered some transfer paper online – gotta love that free delivery for anything over $35.
- Printed out the Run DMC logo onto the transfer paper.
- Carefully cut out the logo. It was a bit tricky, but I managed.
- Ironed the logo onto the shirt, following the instructions on the transfer paper.
- Waited for it to cool down, then peeled off the backing paper.
And that’s it! Now I have my very own custom Run DMC shirt. It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. Plus, it was way cheaper than buying one online. Now I can rock my Run DMC pride wherever I go. It’s a little rough around the edges, but hey, that’s part of the charm, right? It’s unique, it’s me, and it’s got that old-school hip-hop vibe. Word to your mother!
