Today I want to share with you guys about my experience with the Apex Fun Run. Man, it was something else! So, our school decided to do this fundraiser thing called the Apex Fun Run, and let me tell you, it was quite the event.
Getting Started
First off, we registered for the event. It was pretty straightforward. We just needed to get some basic info to the Apex folks, like how many kids were participating and stuff like that. Once we did that, they sent over a bunch of materials to get us started.
Collecting Pledges
The next step was all about getting pledges. The whole idea is that the kids run laps, and people pledge money for each lap they complete. There are also options for the sponsors to make a simple donation, which means that they pledge to pay a flat amount regardless of how many laps the students run. Now, let me tell you, getting pledges wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. I mean, it’s for a good cause, right? But still, you gotta put in the work. We sent out emails, made some calls, and even did some old-school door-knocking. Every little bit counts!
The Big Day
Finally, the day of the run arrived. The energy was amazing! There were kids everywhere, all pumped up and ready to go. The Apex team had set up a track, and they had music playing and everything. It was like a big party! They told us that all students run between 26-36 laps, but not more than 36 laps, even if they wanted to.
- We lined up the kids.
- The whistle blew.
- They started running.
And they didn’t stop! Lap after lap, these kids were giving it their all. I was so proud of them. And the best part? We were raising money for our school the whole time!
Counting the Money
After the run, it was time to count up all the pledges. This part took a bit of time, but it was worth it. We had to track who pledged what, how many laps each kid ran, and all that jazz. But once we got it all sorted, we were blown away by how much money we had raised!
Lessons Learned
Looking back, the Apex Fun Run was a huge success. We raised a ton of money, and the kids had a blast. But it wasn’t without its challenges. Here are a few things I learned along the way:
- Start early: Don’t wait until the last minute to start collecting pledges.
- Get organized: Keep track of everything! It’ll make your life so much easier.
- Have fun: This is supposed to be fun for the kids, so make sure they enjoy it!
Overall, I’d say the Apex Fun Run was a great experience. It took some work, but it was totally worth it. If your school is looking for a fun and effective way to raise money, I definitely recommend giving it a try. You won’t regret it!
