Okay, so, I was messing around with this idea of a “totem butterfly,” right? Getting My Hands Dirty
I decided I was going to build something, a physical representation, if you will. First, I sketched out some rough ideas. Nothing fancy, just some doodles to get the creative juices flowing. I played around with different materials, thinking about what would best represent a butterfly.
- I considered using clay, thinking I could mold it into a butterfly shape.
- Then, I thought about using some old wire I had lying around. I could bend it and shape it, maybe add some colorful beads or something. I even considered going on a nature walk to gather some material.
- But, in the end, I settled on paper. It just felt right. Simple, yet versatile.
I started folding and cutting, trying different techniques. I messed up a bunch of times. Paper ripped, folds went wonky, you name it. But, I kept at it. I watched some origami videos, learned a few new folds, and eventually, I started to get the hang of it.
The Final Stretch
After a whole lot of trial and error, I finally created something I was pretty happy with. It wasn’t perfect, but it was my own little paper butterfly. I even added a little stand for it, so it looked like it was about to take flight. Kind of a rough representation of moving forward, you know, not being stuck in one place.
It was a fun little project. It made me think a lot about how we all go through changes, big and small. And, how sometimes, you just gotta embrace the messy parts to come out stronger on the other side. Just like my little paper butterfly, we all have the potential to transform and grow, even when things get tough. I guess what I learned here is to believe in your growth, and never be afraid to change. This experience was awesome, and I think it’s worth sharing.
