Zodiac runes explained: Find out your rune and its meaning!

Okay, so I’ve been messing around with zodiac runes lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I’ve always been kind of interested in astrology and symbols, so I figured, why not try to combine them?

First thing I did was grab a bunch of paper and some colored pencils. I wanted to see if I could create my own set of runes based on the zodiac signs. Started with Aries, because, you know, gotta start somewhere. I sketched out a few different ideas, trying to capture that fiery, ram energy. I must have gone through like, ten different versions before I settled on one that felt right.

Then I moved on to Taurus. Now, this one was a bit tricky. Bulls are stubborn, right? So I wanted a rune that looked solid and grounded, but also had a bit of an edge to it. After a few tries, I ended up with something that kind of looks like a bull’s head, but also kind of like a fortress. I don’t know, it works for me.

Then I go on to create the other ten runes, I spent like a week working on them, and I was drawing and erasing, and drawing some more.

  • For Gemini, I tried to make something that looked like twins, or maybe a mirror image.
  • Cancer was all about that crab shell, protective and nurturing.
  • Leo, of course, had to be a big, bold sun.
  • Virgo was a bit more delicate, like a stalk of wheat or something.
  • Libra, I went for balanced scales, naturally.
  • Scorpio was a stinger, sharp and dangerous.
  • Sagittarius, an arrow pointing upwards.
  • Capricorn, a sturdy mountain.
  • Aquarius, wavy lines, like water or air.
  • And finally, Pisces, two fish swimming in opposite directions.

Once I had all twelve runes, I felt like I needed to do something with them. You know, it is no fun just leave them be. So I started experimenting with different ways to use them. I tried laying them out in different patterns, kind of like a tarot spread, to see if I could get any insights into my day or week.

One time, I drew the Aries rune, the Leo rune, and the Sagittarius rune, all fire signs. And you know what? That day I felt super energized and creative. I actually finished a project I’d been putting off for weeks. Coincidence? Maybe. But it felt pretty cool.

Then, in order to take my experiment one step further, I found some smooth stones at the park, and I painted each of the runes onto a stone. It took me a whole afternoon, but they look pretty cool. Then I did some readings with them just like I use papers. This time, I feel much better, it just feels right when you hold the stones in your hand.

The journey does not end

I’m still figuring all this stuff out, but it’s been a fun and interesting process so far. I’m not saying I’m some kind of rune expert now, but it’s definitely got me thinking more about the connection between symbols, energy, and intuition. And it’s a nice way to kill some time, for sure. Who knows, maybe I’ll even start giving rune readings to my friends. Or maybe I’ll just keep them all to myself. We’ll see.
