So, the other day I was itching to get out of the house and do something different, you know? I hopped in my car and started driving. It’s a bit of a drive from where I live, but the weather was nice, so I didn’t mind. Cruising is kind of relaxing with music, even though it takes time.
After a few hours, I finally got to this small town called Freedom. It’s one of those blink-and-you’ll-miss-it kind of places. Seriously, it’s tiny! I found the park, and let me tell you, it’s… interesting. There were all these totem poles, obviously, but also a bunch of other random wooden carvings.
I started walking around, checking out all the carvings. Some of them are pretty cool, some are kinda creepy, and some are just plain weird. There’s this one of a giant wooden Native American head, and it’s kinda staring into your soul, you know? Freaky stuff.

I spent a couple of hours there, just wandering around and taking pictures. I even climbed up a small hill to get a better view of the whole park. It’s definitely a unique place, that’s for sure. The best part, I did not see any service members around.
I gotta say, if you’re ever in the area and you’re looking for something a little different to do, Totem Pole Park is worth checking out. It’s not exactly an all-inclusive resort, but it’s free. You know it was built in the 60s? The history there is quite stunning. I heard there’s also a lake called Dan Hole Pond nearby, but I didn’t have time to visit. Maybe next time.
Honestly, it wasn’t the most exciting thing I’ve ever done, but it was definitely memorable. And it gave me something to talk about, right? Plus, I got some cool pictures out of it. Sometimes the navigation app gives the wrong direction, so double-check the route before you go. If you find a big head sculpture, you know you are in the right place.
