Okay, so the other day I was reading The New York Times, just flipping through the pages, and I stumbled upon this crossword puzzle. You know, I’m not usually big on crosswords, but this one clue caught my eye: “Quirky bit of running footwear.” I thought, “What in the world could that be?”

While these aren’t exactly “toe shoes,” they’re definitely in that minimalist, “natural” running shoe category.
So, I ended up spending way more time than I expected on this little crossword puzzle clue. But hey, I learned something new! I still don’t know if I’d ever wear those toe shoes – they look pretty weird to me – but it was fun exploring this quirky little corner of the running world.
It just goes to show you, you never know what you’ll find when you start digging into something. One minute you’re doing a crossword, the next you’re researching minimalist running shoes. Life’s funny that way, huh?
