Hey there, y’all. Let me tell ya somethin’ about this Haven Free Clinic Run 2024. I ain’t no fancy writer or nothin’, but I heard some things and I wanna share ’em with ya.
So, this here Haven Free Clinic, they been around for a good while now, like 20 years or somethin’. That’s a long time to be doin’ good, I reckon. And they doin’ good by folks who don’t got no insurance, givin’ ’em that primary care and teachin’ ’em how to stay healthy. That’s important, ya know? ‘Cause when you’re sick, you ain’t got nothin’.
Now, they havin’ this run, a 5K, to raise some money. They call it the Haven Free Clinic 5K Run/Walk. Sounds like a mouthful, but it just means you can run or walk, whichever you like. They been doin’ this run for 10 years now, can you believe it? Ten years of folks runnin’ and walkin’ to help other folks. That’s mighty neighborly, I say.
This year, the run is in, uh, 2024, see? They had it back in October before too. Seems like they like that October time. Maybe the weather’s nice then, not too hot, not too cold. Just right for a little runnin’ or walkin’. I ain’t much of a runner myself, my knees ain’t what they used to be, but I can walk a bit. And even if I can’t walk that far, I can still cheer folks on, right? Every little bit helps, that’s what I always say.
They have this thing at Edgewood Park. Sounds like a nice place to be. I heard they even had it virtually one year, meanin’ you could run wherever you wanted. That’s pretty clever, I reckon. Folks everywhere could join in and help out. But this year, it sounds like it’s back in person at the park. That’s good, you get to see all the other folks and feel like you’re part of somethin’ bigger.
And let me tell you, they raised a bunch of money doin’ this run. I heard somethin’ about 40 somethin’ somethin’. That’s a lot of money! Just think of all the good they can do with that. Help more people, buy more medicine, maybe even get some new equipment. It all adds up, ya know?
- They Need Volunteers: I also heard they need folks to help out. They call ’em volunteers. They need ’em for the run and for the clinic too. So if you ain’t much of a runner but you still wanna help, you can do that. Sign up to be a volunteer, they’d be happy to have ya.
- They Got Directors Too: And get this, they even got these folks called directors. They kinda run the whole show, make sure everything is goin’ smooth. Sounds like a big job, but somebody’s gotta do it. If you’re smart and you care about folks, maybe you could be a director one day.
So, if you’re lookin’ for a way to do some good, this Haven Free Clinic Run 2024 sounds like a good place to start. You can run, you can walk, you can volunteer, you can donate. Whatever you can do, it’ll make a difference. And that’s what matters, right? Helpin’ folks out, makin’ the world a little bit better. That’s what it’s all about.
Remember, it ain’t just about the runnin’ or the walkin’. It’s about the folks who need help. It’s about makin’ sure everybody gets a chance to see a doctor, even if they ain’t got no money. That’s somethin’ worth fightin’ for, wouldn’t you say?
