Alright, listen up, y’all. Let’s talk about them mages in that World of Warcraft thingy, the Season of Discovery, whatever that is. My grandson, he keeps yellin’ about it. Says it’s important to get the right “runes” and “talents.” Sounds like a bunch of hogwash to me, but he says it helps you zap things better, so here we go.
First off, them mages, they need smarts. Like, real smarts. Not just book smarts, but know-how smarts. You gotta know which buttons to push, or you’ll end up lookin’ like a fool. There’s this thing called “Tome of Expanded Intellect,” sounds fancy, right? Says it can drop from any big baddie in them dungeons. Dungeons? Sounds like a dark and scary place to me. But my grandson says you need it, so you go get it, I guess.
Now, about them runes. They’re like… extra powers, I think. My grandson showed me a list, all scribbled down on a piece of paper. Looked like chicken scratch to me, but he said it was important. He kept talkin’ about “Spellfrost Bolt.” Said it’s a good one for blastin’ things. There’s a whole bunch of ’em, though. Like, a whole bunch. Too many for this old lady to remember.
- Arcane Blast: Makes your boom boom bigger, I guess.
- Living Flame: Sets things on fire, real purdy like.
- Frostfire Bolt: Cold and hot, all mixed together. Sounds like a fever to me.
Then there’s the “talents.” That’s where it gets real confusing. It’s like pickin’ between apples and oranges, only there’s a whole darn orchard of choices. You gotta decide if you wanna be a fire mage, a frost mage, or an arcane mage. My grandson, he likes the fire one. Says it’s the most “bang for your buck.” Whatever that means.
Fire Mage Talents:
- Burnin’ Soul: Makes you tougher when things get hot.
- Pyromaniac: The more fire you make, the better. Makes sense, I guess.
- Master of the Elements: Helps you control all that fire, so you don’t burn yourself up.
Frost Mage Talents:
- Ice Shards: Makes your ice spells hit harder.
- Cold Snap: Cools things down real quick. Handy for when things get too spicy.
- Winter’s Chill: Makes your enemies slow and sluggish. Like me on a cold mornin’.
Arcane Mage Talents:
- Arcane Missiles: Shoots a bunch of little zappy things.
- Arcane Potency: Makes your magic stronger.
- Presence of Mind: Helps you think faster, so you can cast spells quicker. I could use some of that myself.
Now, I don’t know nothin’ about “builds” or “rotations” or any of that fancy talk. My grandson tries to explain it to me, but it just goes in one ear and out the other. All I know is, you gotta pick the right runes and talents, and then you gotta practice. Practice, practice, practice. That’s what my grandson says, anyway.
He says there’s websites and stuff that can tell you more. But I ain’t got time for that. I got chickens to feed and a garden to tend to. This mage stuff is for the young folks. But if you’re playin’ one, you best listen to your grand… uh, listen to someone who knows. Get them runes, get them talents, and don’t go burnin’ the house down. And for goodness sake, don’t forget to eat your vegetables! That’s the real secret to gettin’ strong, not all this magic hocus pocus.
And another thing, don’t stay up all night playin’ them games. You need your rest! Or you’ll end up lookin’ like a dried-up prune. Now, go on, get out of here and go zap somethin’. Just don’t zap me!
Remember this is just what this ol’ lady picked up listenin’ to her grandson. You go do your own research and figure out what works best for you. Don’t come cryin’ to me if you mess up!
And another thing, that grandson of mine kept talkin’ ’bout “mana.” Said you need it to cast spells. Sounds like water to me. Make sure you drink enough water, too! Can’t zap nothin’ if you’re all dried up like a raisin.
