Okay, so, I’ve been grinding in Final Fantasy XIV lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey. Today, I want to share my experience with farming for the Expanse Totem. Yeah, that’s right, the one from Bismarck Extreme.
Getting Started
First off, I had to unlock Bismarck Extreme. It wasn’t too bad, just had to go through the story and a few quests. Once that was done, I jumped into the Duty Finder. Oh boy, the first few runs were… interesting. Let’s just say not everyone knows the mechanics, and we wiped a few times. Or maybe more than a few. It happens, right?
The Grind Begins
After getting the hang of the fight, I started the real grind. Each time you beat Bismarck Extreme, you get a guaranteed Expanse Totem. The goal was to collect a bunch of these. Why? Well, these totems are like a special currency. You can trade them in for some cool stuff.
- I teamed up with some friends, and we ran Bismarck Extreme over and over again.
- We got better each time, figuring out the best strategies to beat him quickly.
- Some runs were smooth, others… not so much. But hey, that’s part of the fun, isn’t it?
The Reward
Finally, after many battles, I had enough Expanse Totems. I made my way to Idyllshire. There’s a vendor there, Bertana, who deals in these totems. You can find her at X:5.9, Y:5.2, if you are curious, but do not search that!.
I traded in my hard-earned totems for some awesome gear. Ten totems gets you a pretty sweet deal, let me tell you! It felt great to finally get the rewards after all that effort. Though I heard if you save up 99 of a different totem, you can get a mount, that sounds crazy!
So, that’s my story of farming Expanse Totems in FFXIV. It was a bit of a grind, but totally worth it in the end. If you’re thinking about doing it, just be prepared for some trial and error, and maybe a few wipes along the way. It’s all part of the adventure! And who knows, maybe we’ll even run into each other in the Duty Finder sometime! But if you ever find yourself farming for other totems, I heard Ravana, Thordan, Nidhogg, Sephirot, Sophia, Zurvan, Byakko, Lakshmi, Susano, and even Shinryu drop totems after each fight too, I really want to try some of those!
