Runes Mage SOD: The Ultimate Guide to Dominate with Magic in Season of Discovery!
Okay, so today I tried to build a runes mage in SOD, and let me tell you, it was quite a ride. First, I started by looking for some guides online. Most of them are talking about how runes in Season of Discovery have totally changed the game for mages. It’s not just about spamming Frostbolt anymore, which is awesome!
I gathered all the materials and items I thought I’d need. This took a while, man. I spent hours running around, collecting stuff, and trying to figure out what each rune does. The game doesn’t really hold your hand through this, so it was a lot of trial and error.
Experiment time
Then came the fun part – experimenting. I slotted in different runes, mixed and matched them to see what worked. Some combinations were epic, like I was throwing around spells like a madman, but others, not so much. I wasted a good chunk of time on a few setups that just didn’t click.
- Fire build – started with fire spells since I thought it would be cool.

The results
After a ton of testing, I finally found a build that I really liked. It’s a mix of fire and frost, giving me both damage and control. The synergy between some of these runes is insane. I can freeze enemies and then blast them with fire, or the other way around. It feels so powerful!
I took this build into some dungeons, and man, it was a blast. I was topping the damage charts and controlling the battlefield like a boss. My teammates were pretty impressed, and I felt like a total pro. Even in the Level-Up Raids, this build held up really well.
In the end, building this runes mage in SOD was a challenging but super rewarding experience. It’s not just about following a guide; you really have to experiment and find what works for you. I had a lot of fun figuring it all out, and I’m stoked with the results. If you’re playing a mage in SOD, definitely give runes a try. It’s a game-changer!
