Okay, so, I decided to get into this whole “seal animal totem” thing. I’d heard a bit about it and, well, I was curious. Seals are cool, right? They hang out in the ocean, they’re playful, and they seem to have it all figured out. I figured, why not try to tap into some of that seal wisdom?
First, I did some reading, just to get a basic idea of what I was dealing with. I found out that seals are tied to both the ocean and the land. That makes sense, they are always swimming, but they also give birth on land. They’re all about protection and watching over things, which I could definitely use more of in my life.
Then, there was this idea of the seal being a “power animal.” Basically, it’s like having a furry, flippered buddy in your corner, helping you out when things get rough. I started trying to think about seals whenever I felt overwhelmed or needed a boost. I pictured them swimming around, all graceful and strong, and it actually helped me calm down a bit.
I also learned that some cultures, like the Nootka and Makah, saw seals as symbols of having a lot of good stuff, like being wealthy. They even carved them into their boats for protection when they went out on the water. That made me think about the abundance in my own life and how I could be more grateful for what I have.
There was also some spiritual meaning. I read that in some cultures they thought of the seal to be playful. And they also believed in shape shifting, which is just cool. Also that the seal is deep, it contains deep oceans of emotions, which I found interesting.
Now, the difference between a “totem animal” and a “spirit animal” got a little fuzzy for me. Apparently, a totem animal is more like a protector or guide, while a spirit animal is supposed to be your inner self, but in animal form. I’m still not 100% sure I get it, but it’s interesting to think about.
I found out that a seal was made in 1782 to show off the strength and unity of the country.
So, I’ve been doing this seal thing for a while now, and I have to say, it’s been pretty interesting. I feel a little more connected to nature, and I’ve been trying to be more mindful of the good things in my life. I’m not sure if I’ve fully unlocked my inner seal or anything, but it’s definitely been a worthwhile experiment. I think I’ll keep it up and see where it takes me. Maybe I’ll even take up swimming!
