Warlock SOD Phase 2 Runes: Whats New and Which Ones Are Best for You?

Okay, so I’ve been messing around with the new runes in Phase 2 of SoD for Warlocks, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride.

First off, I grabbed that Rune of Impact. It was easy to get this one, just like the text said, “Once recited from the dark tome,” and boom, I had it. I felt like I had some secret incantation and was ready to rock!

Then, I decided to go for the Rune of Fires Wake. I had to make my way to Durnholde Keep, which, you know, isn’t exactly a walk in the park. I found this pile of rubble, it is straight across the bridge and up the hill next to the two pipe-looking things sticking up out of the rubble. Then, I had to use some Demolition Explosives on this pile of rubble. I placed them and blew that thing up! And then, like magic, a Storage Locker appeared right underneath where that rubble used to be. Opened it up, and there it was, the Rune of Fires Wake. I felt pretty accomplished after that one, like a real treasure hunter!

Lastly, I went after the Haunt Rune. I was playing a Horde Orc and that meant I had to complete the level 2 quest “Stolen Power.” I got the quest from Nartok and headed north to the Burning Blade Coven. Now, the text said the rune was in a Waterlogged Stashbox in the cave at some coordinates, but let me tell you, finding that stashbox was a bit of a pain. I searched and searched, and finally found it tucked away in a corner of the cave. I grabbed that rune, and with that, I was three for three on the new runes.

  • Rune of Impact

  • This one was simple. Just had to recite it, and I was good to go. I felt super powerful with it.

  • Rune of Fires Wake

  • This involved a bit of travel and some explosives. I had to blow up some rubble at Durnholde Keep, and then I found the rune in a locker that appeared. It was like an adventure movie!

  • Haunt Rune

  • This one required completing a quest called “Stolen Power” if you’re a Horde Orc. I found the rune in a Waterlogged Stashbox in a cave, but it took some serious searching.

So, there you have it. My journey to get these new runes in SoD Phase 2. It was a mix of easy pickings and some real challenges, but totally worth it. These runes definitely add some spice to the Warlock class, and I’m excited to see what else I can do with them.
