Man, Phase 2 of WoW’s Season of Discovery, huh? I’ve been messing around with my rogue, trying to figure out these new runes. It’s been a wild ride, let me tell you.
So, first thing I did was obviously, I tried to log in. It kept crashing. Always crashing! The screen went blue! I went crazy! I don’t have the best setup, okay? My computer isn’t super high-end. I thought that it was completely broken. Then I checked the Device Manager. There were no red or yellow marks. The game just kept crashing. Turns out, I had to mess with some settings first, I am using MS Windows so it was easier. Finally, I got the client running.
Then I started by gathering a bunch of my buddies. We were all hyped to jump into Azeroth with these new abilities. We were all scrambling, trying to figure out what to do with the updated Honor System. We’re not hardcore raiders or anything, but we like to hold our own in PvP. The whole thing has changed, like, a lot.
I spent hours just reading through forums and guides. My browser was flooded with tabs about the best talents and gear. You wouldn’t believe how many different builds people have come up with. It took me a long time to understand which gear is the best. It can be found from dungeons, or PvP.
I really wanted to make my rogue a beast in battlegrounds. The first thing I tested was one of the new runes. The feeling when I finally got it to work was so good. Like, I spent an entire evening just tweaking my rotation, trying to get it just right. There are a lot of top players on the leaderboard, and I wanted to be one of them.
Of course, it wasn’t all smooth sailing. I hit a few roadblocks along the way. Some of the runes were bugged at first, which was super frustrating. Blizzard eventually patched them, but man, those first few days were rough. September 10th, Nerub-ar Palace raid will come, and I needed to be prepared.
Here’s what I ended up doing, after trying a bunch of different things:
- Focused on a few key runes: Instead of trying to learn everything at once, I picked a couple that seemed strong and focused on mastering them.
- Experimented a lot: I spent hours in-game just trying different combinations of talents and runes. Some worked great, others… not so much.
- Joined a guild: This was a game-changer. Having other experienced players to bounce ideas off of and run dungeons with made a huge difference.
It’s been a grind, but honestly, I’m having a blast. My rogue feels more powerful than ever, and I’m actually holding my own in PvP now. Still got a long way to go, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right?
So yeah, that’s my experience with the rogue runes in Phase 2 so far. What about you guys? What have you been trying out? Any tips for a fellow rogue enthusiast?
