Okay, so, I got into this whole “yes or no” runes thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I’m not claiming to be some kind of expert or anything, but I thought I’d share my little experiment with y’all.

My “Yes or No” Method
Now, for the “yes or no” part. I kept it super simple. I’d hold all the runes in my hands, close my eyes, and think about a question I had. Like, “Should I get pizza for dinner?” (Important stuff, obviously.) Then, I’d shake the runes a bit and pull one out without looking.
- Blank Rune: If I pulled out a blank rune (some sets have one), I took that as a “maybe” or “it’s unclear.”
- Upright Rune: If the rune was upright, I counted that as a “yes.”
- Reversed Rune: And if it was upside down, that was a “no.”
Putting It to the Test
I started with silly little questions, like the pizza one. But then I got a bit bolder. I asked about work stuff, relationship things, even whether I should buy that lottery ticket (spoiler: I didn’t win). Some of the answers were surprisingly spot on, or at least they felt that way. Others were totally off. Or maybe I just didn’t like the answer, who knows.
Here are a few interesting question I tried and the result:
- “Should I eat pizza tonight?” The rune I pulled was Wunjo, it means joy and celebration. I took that as a yes, so I ordered a large pepperoni and pineapple pizza.
- “Am I going to get that promotion at work?” I got Dagaz, which is all about breakthroughs and new beginnings. Fingers crossed!
- “Will I regret eating this entire bag of chips?” I pulled out Hagalaz, a rune associated with disruption and chaos. I probably should have listened to that one.
What I Learned
Look, I’m not saying runes are some magical fortune-telling device. But they’re a fun way to tap into your intuition, or at least make you think about things a little differently. It’s like flipping a coin, but with a bit more mystery and ritual involved.
Would I recommend it? Sure, why not! It’s a harmless little experiment, and who knows, you might even surprise yourself with the answers you get. Just don’t go making any major life decisions based on a bunch of wooden tiles, okay?
My rune journey is still ongoing. I’m no expert, but I’m having fun with it. Maybe I’ll try some more complex spreads in the future, or maybe I’ll just stick to my “yes or no” questions. Either way, it’s been an interesting experience, and I’m curious to see where it leads.
