Alright, so I wanted to mess around with some builds in ARAM today, specifically using Blitz runes. You know, just to see what kind of wacky stuff I could make work. Nothing too serious, just a bit of fun on a lazy Sunday.
First thing I did was fire up the client and hop into an ARAM game. I figured, “Why not start with something simple?” So I locked in a champion I felt comfortable with, just to get a feel for how the runes would play out in a real game. After i pick my champion, I picked my runes then jump into the game.
My first couple of games were pretty standard. I tried out Electrocute on a mage, just to see if I could burst people down quickly. It worked alright, but nothing to write home about. I mean, it’s Electrocute, it does what it says on the tin.
- Game 1: Played a mage with Electrocute. Felt okay, pretty standard.
- Game 2: Tried Aftershock on a tank. Also pretty standard, made me a bit beefier.
Then I thought, “Okay, let’s get a little weird.” I went with Glacial Augment on an ADC. My thinking was, “Maybe the slow will help me kite better in those crazy ARAM teamfights?” It actually wasn’t half bad! The slow was noticeable, and it helped me survive a few hairy situations.
Getting a Bit More Adventurous
After that, I started experimenting more. I put Predator on a support, just to see if I could roam around and make plays. That was a bit of a disaster, to be honest. I felt like I was just running around aimlessly, not really accomplishing much. I felt that was not a great move.
But then I had a bit of an epiphany. I thought, “What if I used Unsealed Spellbook and just swapped out my summoner spells constantly?” Now, this was fun. I was switching between Ignite, Exhaust, and even Ghost, just depending on what my team needed at the moment. It felt like I had an answer for everything. I felt my strategy was being on point here.
- Game 3: Glacial Augment on an ADC. Surprisingly effective!
- Game 4: Predator on a support. Not my best idea.
- Game 5: Unsealed Spellbook. Now we’re talking! Felt super adaptable.
By the end of the day, I had tried out a bunch of different rune combinations. Some worked, some didn’t, but it was all a good time. I wouldn’t say I discovered any game-breaking strategies, but I definitely had more fun than I expected. My friends also came to play with me, and we have a good time with Blitz runes on ARAM.
Honestly, it just reminded me that sometimes it’s good to just mess around and try new things in this game. You never know what you might discover. It’s not always about winning, it is also about trying new things and having fun. And I achieve those things today, so I called it a day and went to sleep!
